- Un article, un essai, un texte - 写文章 (xiě wénzhāng) écrire un article, 一篇文章 (yì piān wénzhāng) un article.
- Spécificatif 篇 (piān). Aussi la locution 做文章 (zuò wénzhāng) = faire toute une affaire de quelque chose.
- À distinguer de 论文 (lùnwén), l'article scientifique, le mémoire ; 文章 est n'importe quel texte en prose, essai, papier.
