How it is used
- Active / positive / enthusiastic (in attitude) - 积极参加 (jījí cānjiā) actively take part; 态度积极 a positive attitude.
- Describes eager, proactive engagement; opposite is 消极 (xiāojí) 'passive/negative' - 消极的态度 (xiāojí de tàidu) a negative attitude.
- Not 'active' in the physical sense (that's 活跃 huóyuè); 积极 is about willing, forward-leaning attitude.
