How it came to be
The full form is a cart seen from above: the box in the middle, the axle through it, a wheel at each end. Simplified, one wheel is left on the axle.
用法
- Any wheeled vehicle - 汽车 (qìchē) car, 火车 (huǒchē) train, 自行车 (zìxíngchē) bicycle, 公交车 (gōngjiāochē) bus.
- 开车 (kāichē) is to drive; 坐车/打车 (zuòchē/dǎchē) is to ride / hail a cab.
- 车站 (chēzhàn) is a station or stop; 出租车 (chūzūchē) a taxi.
