How it is used
- "Go in", seen from where you stand: the movement leads away from you - 门开了，进去吧 (mén kāi le, jìnqù ba) the door's open, go on in.
- Contrast 进来 (jìnlái, come in): 去 = in and away from the speaker, 来 = in and toward the speaker.
- As a complement: 走进去 (zǒu jìnqù) walk in, 放进去 (fàng jìnqù) put in.
