How it is used
- To resign / quit one's job - 提出辞职 (tíchū cízhí) tender one's resignation, 辞职信 resignation letter.
- You quit voluntarily; contrast 被解雇/被开除 (be fired). It's a separable verb: 辞了职 quit the job.
- Distinguish from 退休 (tuìxiū, retire) - 辞职 is leaving a specific post by choice.
