- Formal verb for putting forward a proposal, question, or suggestion - 提出问题 (tíchū wèntí), raise a question; 提出建议 (tíchū jiànyì), put forward a suggestion.
- Also used for withdrawing cash: 提出现金 (tíchū xiànjīn).
- More formal than casual 说 (shuō, to say); expect this in meetings, papers, and news reports rather than chat.
