How it is used
- Both the verb catch a cold and the noun a cold - 我感冒了 (wǒ gǎnmào le) I've caught a cold, 得了感冒 (déle gǎnmào) came down with a cold.
- Colloquial idiom: 对…不感冒 (duì… bù gǎnmào) means to be uninterested in / not care for something, not literally sick.
