- Review material you've already learned - 复习功课 (fùxí gōngkè) review lessons, 考试前复习 (kǎoshì qián fùxí) revise before the exam.
- Contrast 预习 (yùxí) preview/prepare material before class. 复 = again, so 复习 is going back over; 练习 (liànxí) is practicing/drilling.
