How it is used
- Arbitration - settling a dispute via a neutral third party's binding ruling - 双方同意提交仲裁 (shuāngfāng tóngyì tíjiāo zhòngcái) both sides agreed to submit to arbitration.
- Legal/commercial term; 仲裁委员会 (arbitration commission), 劳动仲裁 (labor arbitration).
- Distinct from 调解 (tiáojiě, mediation, non-binding) and 诉讼 (sùsòng, litigation in court); 仲裁 is binding but out of court.
