How it is used
- To submit / hand in (a document, report, application) - 提交申请 (tíjiāo shēnqǐng) submit an application; 提交作业 turn in homework.
- Formal: sending something to an authority/system for consideration. Also 'refer a matter to' (提交讨论 submit for discussion). The 'Submit' button online is 提交.
- Distinguish from 交 (jiāo, to hand over, everyday) - 提交 is the formal register.
