How it is used
- An agent / proxy acting on another's behalf - 保险代理人 (bǎoxiǎn dàilǐrén) insurance agent; 法律代理人 legal representative.
- Someone authorized to act for a principal. Also 代理人战争 (proxy war).
- Contrast 中介 (zhōngjiè, an intermediary/broker matching two parties); a 代理人 represents one party's interests specifically.
