- Two readings. As zài: to carry/load - 载客 (zàikè) carry passengers, 承载 (chéngzài) bear weight; 下载 (xiàzài) download.
- As zǎi: to record in writing - 记载 (jìzǎi) to record, 转载 (zhuǎnzǎi) to repost/reprint an article.
- Trap: 下载 is standardly xiàzài (many say xiàzǎi colloquially); 记载 is jìzǎi. The 'carry' sense is zài, the 'record' sense is zǎi.
