How it came to be

用法
- To receive/undergo (usually something done TO you) - 受伤 (shòushāng) get injured, 受影响 (shòu yǐngxiǎng) be affected, 受欢迎 (shòu huānyíng) be popular.
- Unlike 接受 (actively accept), bare 受 often marks passive experiencing, frequently unpleasant: 难受 (nánshòu) feel awful, 受不了 (shòubuliǎo) can't stand it.
