How it came to be
A hand taking an ear. Soldiers were paid by the ears they brought back from a battlefield, and the character has counted taking ever since.
用法
- To take / fetch / obtain - 取钱 (qǔ qián) withdraw money, 取得 (qǔdé) attain/achieve, 获取 (huòqǔ) acquire.
- 取消 (qǔxiāo) to cancel is very high-frequency: 航班取消了 (hángbān qǔxiāo le) the flight was cancelled.
- 争取 (zhēngqǔ) strive for; 录取 (lùqǔ) admit/enroll; 采取 (cǎiqǔ) adopt (measures).
