How it is used
- To stop/block someone from doing something - 阻止他离开 (zǔzhǐ tā líkāi) stop him from leaving; 无法阻止 (wúfǎ zǔzhǐ) unable to prevent.
- Active intervention against an ongoing/imminent action, often against someone's will. Vs 防止 (heading off a bad event in general) - 阻止 targets a specific actor.
