How it is used
- 'To overlap, be superimposed' - 功能重叠 (gōngnéng chóngdié) overlapping functions; 影像重叠 (yǐngxiàng chóngdié) overlapping images.
- Note 重 here is chóng (again/layered), not zhòng. Describes things layering onto or duplicating each other.
- Also a grammar term for reduplication (词语重叠). Contrast 重合 (chónghé, coincide exactly).
