How it is used
- To suffer / be subjected to (something bad) - 遭到反对 (zāodào fǎnduì) to meet with opposition, 遭到破坏 (zāodào pòhuài) to be damaged/vandalized.
- Always takes a negative object (attack, rejection, disaster); it flags you as the passive victim of it.
- Vs 受到 (shòudào) which can be positive or negative; 遭到 is negative only.
