How it is used
- The default "here" - 我在这里 (wǒ zài zhèlǐ) I'm here, 这里的天气 (zhèlǐ de tiānqì) the weather here.
- In speech it's often shortened to 这儿 (zhèr), the northern/colloquial equivalent; 这里 is a touch more neutral and writing-friendly.
- Note it can point at a person's location, not just a place - 到我这里来 (dào wǒ zhèlǐ lái) come over to me/my place.
