- To run / operate / manage (a business) - 经营公司 (jīngyíng gōngsī) run a company; 经营不善 poor management.
- Contrast 管理 (guǎnlǐ, to manage/administer) and 营业 (yíngyè, to be open for business): 经营 covers the whole running of an enterprise - strategy, operations, making it profitable. Figuratively 经营感情 nurture a relationship.
