How it is used
- To be sure / to determine / confirm - 你确定吗？ (nǐ quèdìng ma?) are you sure?; 确定时间 fix the time.
- Also the 'OK/Confirm' button on screens. Contrast 确认 (quèrèn, to verify/acknowledge something is correct): 确定 is being certain or settling on something; 确认 is checking/confirming it.
