How it is used
- Early morning, roughly dawn to mid-morning - 早上好 (zǎoshang hǎo) good morning.
- Narrower than 上午 (shàngwǔ), which is the whole forenoon up to noon; 早上 is the earlier slice.
- 上 is toneless (zǎoshang).
