How it is used
- The default verb for raising an abstract level or degree - 提高水平 (tígāo shuǐpíng) raise the level, 提高效率 (tígāo xiàolǜ) improve efficiency.
- Use it for skills, quality, prices, standards - not physical lifting (that's 举 jǔ or 抬 tái). 增加 (zēngjiā) means increase in quantity/amount; 提高 is about level or degree.
