How it is used
- To help someone achieve their wish, often by stepping aside or making a sacrifice - 我成全你们 (wǒ chéngquán nǐmen) I'll help you two get what you want.
- Carries a selfless, generous flavor: you enable another's happiness/success, classically a couple's romance or someone's dream.
- Different from 帮助 (bāngzhù, help generally): 成全 is 'make it whole/complete for them,' often at your own cost.
