- To help / help (noun) - 谢谢你的帮助 (xièxie nǐ de bāngzhù) thanks for your help; takes a direct object: 帮助别人.
- Contrast 帮忙 (bāngmáng), a verb-object pair that can't take an object directly - you say 帮我一个忙, not 帮忙我.
- 帮助 is slightly more formal than bare 帮 (帮我拿一下).
