How it is used
- A formal objection or dissenting view - 提出异议 (tíchū yìyì) to raise an objection; 毫无异议 (háo wú yìyì) without any dissent.
- Register is formal (meetings, votes, legal/committee settings), more so than everyday 反对 (fǎnduì, to oppose).
- Habitually pairs with 提出 (tíchū, to put forward) or 有/无 (yǒu/wú, to have/lack).
