- Verb-object 'to hold or attend a meeting' - 我们下午开会 (wǒmen xiàwǔ kāihuì) we have a meeting this afternoon.
- Being verb+object, it splits: 开了一个会 (kāi le yí ge huì) held a meeting, 开个短会 (kāi ge duǎn huì) hold a quick meeting. You cannot say 开会一个会.
