How it is used
- A person's age, especially in speech: 你多大年纪? (nǐ duō dà niánjì?) how old are you? 上了年纪 getting on in years.
- Used for people's age; contrast 年龄 (niánlíng), the more neutral/formal "age" used on forms and for anything.
- Common with 大/小: 年纪大了 grown old.
