How it is used
- A grade/year in school - 三年级 (sān niánjí) third grade, 高年级 upper grades.
- Don't confuse with 年纪 (niánjì, a person's age) - same pinyin family, different character and meaning.
- Also 年龄 vs 年纪 for age; 年级 is strictly the school-year level.
- 同年级 = same grade/year.
