- The level of education someone has completed - 本科学历 (běnkē xuélì) is a bachelor's-level education. Job ads ask for 学历要求 (xuélì yāoqiú), education requirements. Distinct from 学位 (xuéwèi), the actual degree title conferred (学士/硕士/博士). Don't misparse it as 学 + 历史 (history) - it is one fixed word.
