- 'To study / learn' - 学习中文 (xuéxí Zhōngwén) study Chinese. More formal and process-oriented than plain 学 (xué).
- Contrast 学会 (xuéhuì), which means to master and succeed; 学习 is the ongoing effort without implying you got it.
