How it is used
- Directional 'come back' - return toward the speaker: 他还没回来 (tā hái méi huílái) he isn't back yet.
- Mirror of 回去 (huíqù, go back); 来 means the return is toward the speaker's place.
- As a complement: 拿回来 (ná huílái) bring back, 买回来 (mǎi huílái) buy and bring home.
