How it is used
- 'In addition / besides / separately' as a connector - 另外，我还有一个建议 (lìngwài, wǒ hái yǒu yí ge jiànyì) also, I have another suggestion; or as a determiner 'another/other' - 另外一个人 (lìngwài yí ge rén) another person.
- Contrast 别的 (biéde, other) - 另外 points to a specific additional one you're now introducing, often 'a separate/further' item.
