How it is used
- Excited / thrilled (positive, energized) - 我很兴奋 (wǒ hěn xīngfèn) I'm so excited; 兴奋得睡不着 (xīngfèn de shuì bù zháo) too excited to sleep.
- Note 兴 is xīng here (as in 高兴). Contrast 激动 (jīdòng, stirred/worked up, can be from any strong emotion including anger): 兴奋 is upbeat, buzzing energy.
- Physiological too: caffeine can make you 兴奋.
