How it is used
- To power off a device, especially a phone - 请关机 (qǐng guānjī) please switch it off; opposite is 开机 (kāijī, turn on), 手机开机 (shǒujī kāijī) switch the phone on.
- Also describes a phone being off/unreachable: 他关机了 (tā guānjī le) his phone is off.
- Separable: 把手机关了机.
