How it is used
- The vacation period itself - 假期计划 (jiàqī jìhuà) holiday plans; 暑假是最长的假期 (shǔjià shì zuì cháng de jiàqī) summer break is the longest holiday.
- A noun (the span of time), unlike 休假 (xiūjià) which is the verb 'to take leave'.
- Here 假 is read jià (holiday), not jiǎ (fake).
