How it is used
- To correct/amend a text, plan, or figure - 修正错误 (xiūzhèng cuòwù) to correct a mistake; 修正案 (xiūzhèng'àn) an amendment.
- More formal and structural than 改 (gǎi, to change); 修正 implies adjusting to make right, often official documents or theories.
- Note the political term 修正主义 (revisionism). Compare 修改 (xiūgǎi), the everyday word for editing/revising a draft.
