- 'Or' linking alternatives - 咖啡或是茶都行 (kāfēi huòshì chá dōu xíng) coffee or tea is fine.
- Used in statements, essentially 或者 (huòzhě). Do NOT use it for question 'or' - 'tea or coffee?' needs 还是 (háishì): 喝茶还是咖啡?
- Slightly more written-flavored than 或者; can chain: A、B或是C.
