How it is used
- To restrict/limit, or a restriction - 限制人数 (xiànzhì rénshù) cap the number of people; 年龄限制 (niánlíng xiànzhì) age limit; 不受限制 (bú shòu xiànzhì) unrestricted.
- Both verb and noun. Imposes a boundary/cap on quantity, freedom, or scope. Vs 限定 (xiàndìng, to set a fixed limit) - 限制 is the general 'hold back within bounds'.
