How it is used
- To land / touch down (aircraft) - 飞机降落了 (fēijī jiàngluò le) the plane has landed.
- 降 read jiàng (descend) + 落 (fall); specifically the descent-and-landing of a plane.
- Opposite 起飞 (qǐfēi) 'take off'. Contrast 下降 (xiàjiàng) 'to decline/drop' (of numbers/levels); 降落 is physical landing - 飞机起飞 (fēijī qǐfēi) the plane takes off.
