How it is used
- 'That / so / to that extent' before an adjective - 别那么快 (bié nàme kuài) don't go so fast.
- Points to a farther degree or manner than 这么 (zhème, this...); also 'then, in that case' as a connector: 那么我们走吧 (nàme wǒmen zǒu ba).
- Before a number it softens to 'about': 那么十个 (nàme shí ge) ten or so.
