How it is used
- 'A will, testament' - 立遗嘱 (lì yízhǔ) make a will; 按遗嘱分配财产 (àn yízhǔ fēnpèi cáichǎn) distribute the estate per the will.
- Legal document register; the deceased's final instructions. 遗 = left behind, 嘱 = instructions.
- Note the verb is 立 (lì, draw up), not 写, for making one formally.
