How it is used
- Slow-witted / dull in perception or response - 他反应迟钝 (tā fǎnyìng chídùn) he's slow on the uptake.
- About dullness of mind or senses (感觉迟钝 dull senses; 思维迟钝 sluggish thinking), usually critical.
- 迟钝 targets sharpness of perception/wit (opposite 敏锐 mǐnruì, keen); 迟缓 targets speed of movement. Don't swap them - 敏锐的眼光 (mǐnruì de yǎnguāng) a keen eye.
