How it is used
- Slow to happen / long delayed - dragging on when it should come - 迟迟没有回复 (chíchí méiyǒu huífù) still no reply after all this time.
- Adverb almost always with a negative or delaying verb: 迟迟不肯 refusing for the longest time; 迟迟未定 still undecided.
- Conveys frustrating, prolonged delay of something expected; the doubled 迟 stresses how overdue it is.
