How it is used
- Foresight / vision - the ability to see far ahead - 他很有远见 (tā hěn yǒu yuǎnjiàn) he has great foresight.
- A complimentary quality of leaders and planners (远见卓识 vision and insight; 有远见的决定 a farsighted decision).
- Positive and abstract; the opposite is 目光短浅 (mùguāng duǎnqiǎn, shortsighted). Distinct from 眼光 (yǎnguāng), which is broader "judgment/taste." - 目光短浅的人 (mùguāng duǎnqiǎn de rén) a shortsighted person.
