- To take an interest in / get involved in a matter - often oversight - 这事没人过问 (zhè shì méi rén guòwèn) no one bothers to look into this.
- Implies stepping in to inquire about or manage something that concerns you (亲自过问 personally attend to; 无人过问 left unattended).
- Frequently negative (无人过问 = neglected) or about intervening; it's active concern/involvement, not just casually 问 (asking a question).
