过期 guòqī to be overdue

How it is used
- Something has passed its valid date - 牛奶过期了 (niúnǎi guòqī le) the milk has expired; 护照过期 (hùzhào guòqī) an expired passport.
- It's a verb/stative, not a noun: say 过期食品 (guòqī shípǐn) expired food, and the noun 'expiration date' is 保质期 (bǎozhìqī), not 过期.
