How it is used
- The jurisdiction / area under an authority's administration - 这不属于我们的辖区 (zhè bù shǔyú wǒmen de xiáqū) this isn't within our jurisdiction.
- Official/administrative register, common with police, government offices, districts (辖区民警 the local beat officer).
- The 辖 = to have control over; 辖区 stresses "the territory I'm responsible for," more official than plain 地区 (region).
