- A person's worth or market value - status, or literal price (of a star, athlete, asset) - 这位球星身价过亿 (zhè wèi qiúxīng shēnjià guò yì) this star player is worth over 100 million.
- Also social standing more broadly (抬高身价 raise one's profile/price).
- Ties a person's value to money or prestige; not the same as 价格 (price of a thing) or 地位 (dìwèi, social position alone).
