How it is used
- Distance between two points - 两地的距离 (liǎng dì de jùlí) the distance between the two places; 保持距离 (bǎochí jùlí) keep your distance.
- Also a verb 'to be … away from': 学校距离这儿三公里 (xuéxiào jùlí zhèr sān gōnglǐ) the school is 3 km from here.
- Figurative too: 有距离 = there's a gap (emotional/level) between people.
