How it is used
- The size of a drop, chiefly in price or an index - 今天股市跌幅超过3% (jīntiān gǔshì diēfú chāoguò bǎi fēn zhī sān) today the market fell by over 3%.
- Finance vocabulary; its exact opposite is 涨幅 (zhǎngfú, extent of a rise). 幅 marks "the amount/extent of the change." - 房价涨幅 (fángjià zhǎngfú) the rise in house prices.
- Note the reading 幅 (fú); 跌 (fall) is the market word for a decline, versus 降 for prices/temperatures more generally.
